Sunday Sibling Stroll: Norscot Koppies

So this Sunday my sibling and I decided to check out Norscot Koppies and or Kingfisher Park. It is usually only open on a Sunday so on our way back from our weekly shopping, we decided to check it out. This is what we found.

You can stroll around on various paths. We came across this bird watching deck, some blesbok and a swamp. The views are pretty cool considering that you are in the middle of suburbia.

We got to see rather obese dassies. The park borders suburbia and you can see that when the local newspaper went on about The Dassie Dilemma, they were not joking. All of the houses have dassie proofed their fences but it doesn't seem to be working. We saw a dassie the size of a jack russel and when some came running past us, it was like a slow jog. These dassies have been snacking from the trash a little too much.

This time my sibling and I wore stroll appropriate shoes. No blisters for me! On the way out my sibling spotted this here tortoise. He was pretty big.

All in all it was an awesome way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The next time it is open, we want to take our picnic blankets and books and go and chill out there. Hopefully they open it up before the cold sets in.
